VERMONT LAKE MONSTERS UNVEIL NEW UNIFORMS FOR 2014 SEASON

VERMONT LAKE MONSTERS UNVEIL NEW UNIFORMS FOR 2014 SEASON
NY-Penn League team reveals new home, road and BP jerseys featuring CHAMP lime green

BURLINGTON, VT --- After unveiling a new logo last November, the Vermont Lake Monsters (single-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics) today are proud to reveal their new team uniforms for the upcoming 2014 New York-Penn League season.

With the help of branding and design firm Brandiose, and manufacturer Rawlings, the Lake Monsters will be sporting a new look with their home, road and batting practice/alternate jerseys. With inspiration drawn from their legendary mascot, CHAMP, the new uniforms remain the traditional home white and road grey, but with a modern touch.

"As we went through the transformation of building our brand, basing our identity around CHAMP was essential," Lake Monsters' General Manager Nate Cloutier explained. "Over the years we have been fortunate enough to create a deep connection with the community, and a large part of that is because of CHAMP. His lime green color and presence is recognizable throughout the state, and we wanted to continue to tie CHAMP and this color into our overall identity."

One of the highlights of the new uniforms is the use of CHAMP and his distinct CHAMP lime green color. Each jersey features special accent color blocks underneath the arms and down the sides, as well as a custom sleeve patch logo of CHAMP. Each jersey will have a player's number on the back, as well as a smaller number on the front right of the jersey.

"We have been excited to unveil the new jerseys, but we wanted to do it in a fun and unique way, so we got some familiar faces to help us out," Cloutier said. During a recent trip to Spring Training a handful of Oakland A's players and staff helped model the new Lake Monsters jerseys, including MLB Home Run Derby champion Yoenis Cespedes, former Lake Monsters and A's #1 prospect Addison Russell, former Lake Monsters and current Oakland pitcher Tommy Milone, A's coach Ariel Prieto, A's infielder Eric Sogard and A's reliever Dan Otero.
